ARRIVAL CITY

Today migration has become a fact of life; a city should adapt to newcomers. We have to welcome them in a vital area with opportunities for integration and work. My graduation project focuses on the transformation of

the modern ruin into a transit place for all kinds of newcomers: Arrival City. Because we don’t know the (fast coming and going of) needs and desires, flexibility is an important design tool.

The city is a process. It is a recurring cycle of decay and renewal. Let’s transform the modern ruin. Arrival city is a snapshot in an process of organic growth. I stripped down the ruin and expanded it with new larger structures that allow a circulation system.
